The instructions are clear and there are very good full-color photographs accompanying them. I look forward to coming volumes in the months ahead. Alas this did not happen as my 10 year old granddaughter saw it and thought I had bought it for her. Originally bought for a male friend. This would be a terrific book club book for moms and kids to read together, or for serious class discussions; I do think that exchange with an adult who's read it will enhance the experience for the pre-teen reader.
